LaredoSteppingStone > After taking groups in and out of Mexico for seven years, one thing our directors, Rick and Kim Hall, found and firmly believe, is to be effective on the mission field you have to be well rested and well fed. If you're sleeping on concrete floors and eating sandwiches and stale donuts all the time, you're going to be worn out, irritable and more likely to be tripped up by the enemy by infighting and illness. God has called us to provide a 'support team' for our groups, making sure they are well rested, have the nutrition they need and be the 'spiritual cheerleaders' to make sure they have the tools they need to complete what God's called them here to do.
LaredoSteppingStone > Benches have been built and placed in strategic areas around the grounds and are perfect for morning devotions, prayer or just some peace and conversation.
LaredoSteppingStone > We do our dining "cafeteria style". Our front kitchen window lifts open and we have the food out on the counter, hot and ready to go.
LaredoSteppingStone > Our dining hall is fairly large and can seat plenty of people comfortably. It's used for many things besides just having a good meal. Many of our groups use it for devotion times, praise and worship or meetings. We have churches that use it for retreats, we have our once monthly missionary fellowships and sometimes it's used for food distributions.
LaredoSteppingStone > And finally, here we are today, with the cantera tile around the bottom of the outside. Now all that needs to be done is the main windows over top of the doors and a pretty coat of paint and we'll be all beautiful!
LaredoSteppingStone > Our food/laundry building is used for storing the food we use for our food ministry and our laundry area. We do a food distribution once a month to help provide for our own community of Las Peñitas as well as bread every Friday. Our staff will also do laundry for you at a cost of 4.00 per load during your stay with us. Of course, the porch is a cool hang out place as well!
